La cravate solidaire
La grande collecte solidaire: the results are in!
The major campaign ‘La Grande Collecte Solidaire’, organised as part of the Group’s social responsibility actions, ended on Friday the 8th of July 2016. Thanks to all of our employees, it was a resounding success!
Here is a breakdown of the results.
Agency managers also took part and did not hesitate to make symbolic donations of their ties, in accordance with La Cravate Solidaire’s tradition.

Promoting occupational integration
In parallel to its active involvement with Live for Good, a charity working to accelerate young social entrepreneurs’ projects, SQLI chose to support La Cravate Solidaire, which collects work clothes in order to promote the access to employment of people with low income. A major clothing collection campaign has therefore been organised at the end of June at its branches in France, Benelux, Switzerland and Morocco.
A dual sponsorship commitment for 2016
Aware of social and environmental issues and of the important role it has to play to provide the most efficient solutions, the SQLI Group and its employees have deployed various initiatives over the past few years to protect the environment and are also committed to concrete actions to back up associations, particularly those working with children, such as Make a Wish, Ela, SOS Villages d’Enfants or Le Rire Médecin.
SQLI is continuing its work this year and organising “Charity Month” at the company in June, during which all its staff are again to be involved, helping two charities this time round: Live for Good and La Cravate Solidaire.
- For Live for Good, employees are invited to enter the Gabriel Award (for under 27 year olds with an already confirmed social entrepreneurship project); make a buzz about this award in order to help the charity recruit candidates; share their know-how (mentoring of competitive candidates). SQLI also provides the charity with all its digital expertise – technology and marketing – and its communications resources in order to promote the charity, its mission, as well as the Gabriel Award, by all means.
- For La Cravate Solidaire, SQLI is organising, from 27 June to 8 July, a major campaign to collect clothes from its employees. Wherever they are based (France, Benelux, Switzerland or Morocco), they’ll have the opportunity of giving a second life to clothes they no longer wear, for a good cause: changing the life of other people by restoring their confidence and helping them to find a(nother) job.
SQLI shall also pay La Cravate Solidaire a financial contribution, calculated according to the weight of clothing collected. Employees may top up this sum by successfully completing challenges.
La cravate solidaire : clothes don’t make the man… but they help
Starting with the fact that physical appearance is one of the principal sources of discrimination at job interviews and that not everyone has the means to buy appropriate clothes or knowledge of verbal and non-verbal conventions, La Cravate Solidaire set itself the goal of promoting the integration of job-seekers. It offers comprehensive support to the charity’s beneficiaries.
After the campaign, the clothes shall be sorted and redistributed at Helping Hand workshops. During these workshops, image consultants coach candidates and offer them a set of work clothes. They then attend a mock job interview including debriefing and finally are photographed to add the finishing touch to their CV.
The objective is to restore their confidence by giving them the best possible chances of their interview going well.
Since 2012, nearly 1,000 people were able to benefit from this support and 70% of them saw their interview go well after the Helping Hand workshop.
